HEALTH AND SAFETY LAW POSTER 2009
"WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW"
The HSE has replaced its approved health and safety poster with a “more visually appealing, simpler and more accessible” version.
The new poster, along with an up-dated version of the approved health and safety leaflet, was made available from 6th April 2009 under changes brought in by the Health and Safety information (Amendment) Regulations.
There is a five-year transitional period, so employers can still display the old version of the poster until 5th April 2014. But employers who opt to keep the old poster must make sure the information is readable and the contact information up to date.
The poster sets out what employers and workers must do to comply with health and safety law. Employers must display the poster in a prominent position or give each worker a copy of the equivalent leaflet.
Easy-read and large-print versions of the new poster will be available.
Copies of the new Poster and leaflets are available from Derwent Safety Centre.
