Electricity at Work

Duration 1 Day
Intended For Supervisors and employees whose duties involve working with, on or near electrical systems within their work environment.
Course Aims To provide an insight into the dangers of electricity and the limitations of protective devices.
Course Objectives On completion of the course delegates will be able to:


- State the function and purpose of protective devices
- Identify the three factors necessary to determine fuse ratings and the correct ampage fuses required
- State the main aim and general requirements of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
- Identify common faults and unsafe activities with the use of portable electrical appliances

Presentation The course content will be introduced via formal presentation and participative training techniques, using visual aids and practical exercises to confirm understanding.
