Emergency First Aid

Duration 1 Day
Intended For Small businesses and organisations where the number of employees do not require persons trained to 4 day First Aid at Work standard.
Course Aims To provide delegates with information and the experience to be able to act in the event of an accident/incident.
Course Objectives On completion of the course delegates will be able to:


- Assess situations and carry out appropriate actions, including informing emergency services
- Carry out cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Place a casualty in the recovery position
- Assess and establish necessary means to control blood loss
- To identify injury, cause and priority of treatment
- Establish the requirements and content of first aid provisions
- Determine the necessary reporting and recording procedures

- Treatment of Unconscious Casualty
- Controlling Bleeding
- Common Workplace Injuries
- Record Keeping
- Contents of First Aid Box
- Review and Summary

Presentation The course content will be introduced via formal presentation and participative training techniques, using visual aids and practical exercises involving the Actar Manakins for CPR exercise to confirm understanding.
