HVCA Working Safely in M&E

Duration 1 Day
Intended For Any person in the Heating, Ventilation and Refrigeration industries requiring Health and Safety training to obtain the Engineering Services SKILLcard.
Course Aims To introduce delegates to Health & Safety legislation covering the Heating and Ventilation industries, providing the appropriate and necessary Health & Safety training to apply for the Engineering Services SKILLcard.
Course Objectives On completion of the course delegates will be able to:


- Understand the main responsibilities under the Health & Safety at Work etc Act 1974
- Understand the general requirements of employers and employees
- Have a basic understanding of safety issues related to the heating and ventilation industries
- Identify preventative measures to reduce accidents in their workplace

- Relevant Health & Safety Legislation
- Hazard, Identification and Risk Assessment
- Accident Prevention, First Aid and Reporting Procedures
- Welfare Arrangements, Housekeeping and Workplace Hygiene
- Safe Use of Work Equipment
- Manual and Mechanical Lifting Operations
- Electrical Safety
- Working at Height
- Fire Prevention, Hot Works and Storage of Flammable Gases

Presentation The course content will be introduced via formal presentation and participative training techniques, using visual aids and practical exercises to confirm understanding.
